Who is it for?
- Athletes
Spirulina contains several B vitamins that help the body use sugars, proteins, and fats to provide energy to the muscles during physical exertion. Vitamins A and E (antioxidants), along with pigments such as phycocyanin and beta-carotene, help limit inflammation. It contains significant amounts of magnesium and potassium, which help prevent cramps, zinc, which supports sugar metabolism, as well as all 8 essential amino acids for the regeneration of muscle cells, and selenium, which is essential for muscle function. Spirulina increases endurance and physical stamina, providing better preparation before a sporting event and facilitating recovery after exercise. Through its iron and beta-carotene content, it is also highly beneficial to athletes by supporting muscle oxygenation and stimulating red blood cell production (natural EPO).
- Pregnant and breastfeeding women
Spirulina helps before, during, and after pregnancy, particularly through its supply of vitamin B9 (folic acid) and iron, whose requirements increase during conception. After childbirth or during breastfeeding, it promotes better recovery and helps prevent fatigue. Spirulina also contains gamma-linolenic acid, which is difficult to obtain from the diet and is essential for the development of the fetus and infant.
- Active people
Thanks to its anti-fatigue properties, spirulina is an excellent ally against exhaustion. Perfect for “juggling” children, work, and physical and household activities. It can also help compensate for a sometimes-neglected diet.
- Seniors
Regular consumption of spirulina makes it easy to provide the body with essential nutrients when dietary intake or absorption is insufficient or difficult.
- Children and adolescents
During periods of growth, the body has an increased need for essential nutrients. Spirulina provides the necessary nutritional boost in a simple, balanced, and quick way. Ideal during exam periods.
- Vegetarians, vegans, iron deficiencies
Spirulina is a source of complete, absorbable plant proteins, vitamins, and minerals essential for a balanced diet.
It is an excellent source of iron that is very well absorbed.
- Animals
Spirulina is suitable for most of our companions (dogs, cats,
horses, fish, etc.).
The coat is shiny, the scales gleaming. Vitality is abundant and digestion is rebalanced.
Directions for use:
Spirulina is a food. Therefore, unlike chemical-based food supplements, there is no dosage for incorporating it into your diet. However, here are some recommendations to follow:
- Consume 3 to 6 grams per day for an adult, equivalent to 1 to 2 teaspoons of spirulina flakes, or 6 to 12 tablets for a child.
- Consume it all year round or in 1- to 3-month courses, with each course lasting at least 1 month.
- Avoid combining it with coffee or tea; choose orange or lemon juice instead to make up for spirulina’s lack of vitamin C and thereby promote better iron absorption.
- Avoid heating or cooking it to preserve its nutritional qualities as much as possible.
- Mix into yogurt, sprinkle over a salad or soup, add to tapenade, or blend with goat cheese to spread on bread.
Warning: The form of iron contained in spirulina is highly absorbable by our bodies, and the presence of vitamin B9 (folic acid) helps improve ferritin levels in the blood. These characteristics make spirulina unsuitable for people with high iron levels or hemochromatosis.
