Each 80g gel provides 55g of carbohydrates and 250mg of sodium. In the 44g XS format, it provides 30g of carbohydrates and 140mg of sodium.

This formulation, based on “multi-transportable carbohydrates,” has been shown through several studies* to facilitate intestinal absorption via different transporters. This characteristic represents an effective mechanism for increasing the absorption and oxidation rate of exogenous carbohydrates beyond 60g per hour*.

Research confirms that it is highly recommended to combine carbohydrate sources such as maltodextrin and fructose.

MALTODEXTRIN:

• Unlike glucose, it must be broken down, resulting in a more gradual and sustained source of energy.
• It has a high glycemic index, causing a rapid increase in blood glucose without necessarily providing an excessively sweet taste, which could overwhelm this type of product.
• As a carbohydrate chain, it has a high molecular weight, resulting in a solution with lower osmolality, which aids digestion and reduces possible gastrointestinal side effects.

FRUCTOSE:

• Fructose is a monosaccharide, the simplest form in which carbohydrates are found. Using a 1:0.8 ratio, based on the latest studies, maximizes the oxidation of exogenous carbohydrates compared with other proportions.
• The use of fructose in such a precise proportion is particularly recommended for athletes consuming more than 60g of carbohydrates per hour.
• As a result, the combination of maltodextrin and fructose makes it possible to digest and absorb a large quantity of carbohydrates per hour while minimizing the risk of gastric issues.
