Discover Ugo Ferrari and Nicolas Martin's e-book

A sports enthusiast from a very young age, Nicolas Martin discovered the joys of sport through football. Alongside this, thanks to his father, he developed a passion for nature. He eventually combined his two passions—sport and nature—by entering the world of trail running, which he describes as providing a feeling of well-being and freedom that allows him to discover fabulous places and landscapes. Although the competitive world was not particularly appealing from his youthful perspective, he nevertheless decided to pursue the highest level at the age of 24. His meeting and collaboration with Patrick Bringer, creator of the “2EP” training structure, would strongly influence his sporting career…

Through this e-book, Nicolas offers an approach to physical preparation for trail running. Simple, accessible chapters provide you with the basics to begin the activity with some autonomy or simply to understand what your coach is asking you to do.

His co-author, self-proclaimed Duke of Savoy, Ugo Ferrari, has been a serious ultra-trail runner since 2016. He brings all his knowledge to this e-book, which you can discover on Nutri-Bay.com. Ugo Ferrari has also created his own pack, which you can discover HERE

The advice provided by Ugo Ferrari and Nicolas Martin is very important to take into account, particularly regarding training. Whether you are passionate about trail running, cycling, or any other sport, all the recommendations can be adapted to any activity.

"Training load consists of two parts. The first part is physiological, while the second component is mental. Too often neglected, this mental load is heavily dependent on your life. It is important to take it into account. Asking yourself questions about this subject is useful not only for your sporting practice but also for the rest of your life."

Alongside training, nutrition advice during the race is also highly relevant, and not only for trail running...

"There are 3 different fueling strategies:

  • Plain water or water with electrolytes + solid or semi-solid intake.
  • Commercial or homemade energy drink.
  • Low-concentration energy drink + solid or semi-solid intake."

Through this e-book, you will have the opportunity to progress at your own pace. There is no point in rushing, because good progress comes with each training session. Ugo Ferrari and Nicolas Martin also somewhat criticize social networks and recent platforms such as Strava. These tools should be used for motivation, not comparison.

"The rise of social networks and a platform like Strava has increased the risk of wanting to do too much by comparing yourself with others. If competition involves comparison, it should above all remain a way to optimize your own potential and express it in competition, thanks to others."
