6D Hydro/ORS (28x6g) - Grapefruit

During exercise, the body loses fluids and electrolytes through sweating. Insufficient replacement of sweat losses during (endurance) exercise, particularly in a hot and humid environment, will negatively affect exercise performance and may eventually lead to muscle cramps. 6D HYDRO/ORS is a low-calorie electrolyte drink that can be used as a source of fluids and electrolytes.

6D HYDRO, at a single dose (= 1 sachet in 500 ml of water), contains only 3.7 g of carbohydrates and 450 mg of sodium per 500 ml bottle. Therefore, 6D HYDRO is the ideal sports drink before or during (endurance) exercise sessions in which athletes deliberately wish to limit their carbohydrate intake (for example, fasted training). 6D HYDRO can also be used during shorter exercise sessions, lasting up to one hour, during which it is not necessary to consume carbohydrates. Thanks to its low calorie content (± 15 kcal per 500 ml), 6D HYDRO can also be used throughout the day to maintain optimal hydration. The sodium (~salt) in 6D HYDRO stimulates thirst and improves the retention of ingested fluids in the body.

Using a double dose (= 2 sachets in 500 ml of water), 6D HYDRO becomes a typical "oral rehydration solution" (ORS). 6D ORS contains 7.5 g of glucose in the form of maltodextrin and 900 mg of sodium per 500 ml bottle. The combination of sodium and glucose, together with the hypotonic solution (± 210 mmol/kg), maximizes fluid absorption in the small intestine. Therefore, 6D ORS is the ideal sports drink for athletes who not only sweat heavily, but also lose a lot of salt through sweating. In addition, during a prolonged stay in a hot and humid environment (= tropical climate), the double dose is often recommended to maintain optimal fluid and electrolyte balance. Furthermore, thanks to its high salt content, 6D ORS is the preferred sports drink for "prehydrating" the body before exercise and "rehydrating" it after exercise. This is especially important after prolonged endurance sessions and competitions where fluid and salt losses are known to be very high and large volumes of fluid must be consumed to restore fluid balance after exercise. For standard use during endurance exercise in a hot and humid environment, 6D ISOTONIC SPORTS DRINK is recommended, as it already contains 450 mg of sodium per 500 ml of water as well as 30 g of carbohydrates. However, some athletes may need to consume additional salt during prolonged endurance exercise (> 3 hours) in the form of 6D ORS.

In summary, 6D HYDRO/ORS is the ideal choice for all athletes who need additional fluids and electrolytes without additional carbohydrates or sugars, especially in a hot and humid environment. Thanks to its neutral pH (~ 7.5), this drink is perfectly suited to endurance athletes, as it is not "harsh" on the stomach or teeth. In fact, no acid has been added to this sports drink.
