How many carbohydrates do I need?
During intense activity, carbohydrates are your body's primary source of energy, and you can absorb more per hour when they come from two sources. As a general rule, aim for around 30 to 60g of carbohydrates per hour for activities lasting 1 to 3 hours and 90 to 120g of carbohydrates per hour for activities lasting more than 4 hours. This of course depends on your height and weight. We recommend trusting your instincts and using our fuelling calculator to help you calculate a fuelling guide suited to your needs.
