Nutri-bay, the story of a sports nutrition website unlike any other.
It's rare... very rare... in fact, this is the first time the press has talked about us, because we tend to keep a low profile... a little gruff in our lair... No interviews... we work

At the heart of sports practice
On one side, Jean-Charles: 25 years of experience in research and development in management, strategy, and the leadership of innovative organizations; and on the other, Shak, an American pharmacist with 20 years of experience in teaching and communicating scientific knowledge to the general public.
Jean-Charles is passionate about running, trail running, and mountain biking, while Shak is passionate about fitness and nutrition. They came together with the idea of creating an innovative, simple, and high-quality nutritional product range designed to meet all the essential needs of athletes in terms of hydration, energy intake, and muscle strengthening.

But in the world of sports nutrition, the two friends would quickly realize that things were not so simple and that, far from being a niche, sports nutrition has its own codes to master, with brands already established in the field. Above all, the level of investment required would soon prove to be far greater than they had anticipated. So, to avoid losing momentum with this idea for an innovative product range, Nutri-bay.com was launched, offering major sports nutrition brands for sale online, but also—and this is where the site began to stand out—young artisanal companies, giving them a chance by prioritizing proximity, product quality, and above all, customer relationships.
Personalized parcel
If there is one truly remarkable thing about the site, it is this customer relationship. Indeed, every parcel ordered is shipped with a few words handwritten by Jean-Charles himself. Unfailing positivity that does you good!
While regular athletes generally visit the website knowing what they want to order, others are unsure about the choices to make regarding hydration, nutrition, or recovery. They are offered genuine guidance tailored to endurance athletes (running at all distances, trail and ultratrail running, triathlon, cycling, mountain biking, swimming, fitness, CrossFit, etc.). Thus, every participant, amateur or elite, can choose the products best suited to their sport. A blog also provides access to a wealth of information, while a network of “nutri-bay” ambassadors (mostly amateurs, but also a few elite athletes) helps maintain a constant presence on social media.
Finally, Nutri-bay’s little extra is its support for social initiatives: the website allows customers to donate 10% of their order to social projects or charities. These projects all share the goal of linking sporting achievements to an issue that very often goes beyond simple athletic performance.
And during this health crisis?
The disaster: all amateur runners significantly reduced their training, and there were very few races between June and September 2020. These athletes, preparing for a half marathon, marathon, or ultra, usually test their nutrition before the event, then buy what they need for race day. Over the months, these amateur runners become regular users; when faced with their first long-distance competition, they come to find the sports nutrition they need to finish! These are all athletes who will not place orders during this period of uncertainty and the lack of a clear outlook for the resumption of competitions.

Sporting goods delivered by bicycle
It was to adapt to the crisis that Jean Charles and Shak came up with the idea of offering zero-waste packs for sale, made up of products with very short expiration dates and sold at cost price so they would not be thrown away.
With the idea of taking actions that benefit the planet, when the first lockdown began, Jean-Charles thought he could continue delivering orders... by bicycle! Admittedly, within a maximum radius of 50 km, because the trailer is heavy at the back of his bike. But he did it, much to the delight of his customers, who, in addition to receiving their products, got a visit from Jean-Charles—a crucial gesture during that complicated period, deprived of human contact, gatherings, exchanges, and sporting events. Yes, customer relationships and human contact are values worth preserving, and that is why we fell in love with this website, which, like many other players in the sporting events sector, was severely affected during this challenging period of the pandemic.
