Precision Fuel & Hydration
We don’t all sweat the same. Tablets with 500 to 1,500 mg of sodium per liter, and gels whose names indicate the dose.
Precision Fuel & Hydration at a glance
Precision Fuel & Hydration is a British brand founded in 2011 by Andy Blow, a sports science graduate and former elite triathlete. It is known for its sweat tests and PH electrolytes, formulated according to the amount of sodium each athlete loses in their sweat.

A brand born from a cramping problem
During races, Andy Blow suffered from cramps and hyponatremia, despite following the hydration advice of the time. With cardiac surgeon Dr. Raj Jutley, he discovered sweat testing, a method already used to diagnose cystic fibrosis. The finding was striking: according to the brand, the amount of sodium lost varies from about 200 mg to 2,000 mg per liter of sweat from one athlete to another. This led to the idea of electrolytes in several concentrations.
“Many athletes pay little attention to their sweat losses during exercise.” Andy Blow, co-founder, University of Chichester (translated from English)
PH 500, PH 1000, or PH 1500: how do you choose?
The number corresponds to the milligrams of sodium per liter of prepared drink. The brand recommends PH 1500 for athletes who lose a lot of sodium, as well as before and after intense exercise. To find out which option is right for you, Precision offers a free online questionnaire and sweat tests at approved centers, performed at rest and without pain. At Nutri-Bay, each concentration is available in effervescent tablets (tube of 10) and 20 g sachets, along with electrolyte capsules.
PF gels: the name tells you the dose
In the PF range, the number indicates the grams of carbohydrates per serving. PF 30 Gel: 30 g, or 120 kcal, also available in a Caffeine version with 100 mg of caffeine. PF 30 Chews: 30 g split between two 15 g chews. PF 90 Gel: 90 g in a single sachet, to replace several gels. PF 300 Flow Gel: 300 g to portion out into the Flow Bottle. Key point: PF gels contain no electrolytes. Sodium is dosed separately with PH.
Three levers to adjust separately
Rather than offering one product that does everything, Precision focuses on three levers: carbohydrates per hour, fluid per hour, and sodium per hour. The Drink Mix products illustrate this approach: Carb Only Drink Mix provides carbohydrates only, while Carb & Electrolyte Drink Mix combines both.
Precision at Nutri-Bay
Precision Fuel & Hydration pairs easily with other ranges: a Maurten or HIGH5 gel for energy, and a PH tablet for sodium. The Fuel Sample Pack lets you try the range before stocking up. Also explore our full selection of electrolytes.

The brand recommends PH 1500 for athletes who lose a lot of sodium and for the periods before and after intense exercise. Precision’s free online questionnaire provides an initial estimate.
No. PF gels contain only carbohydrates. They are designed to be combined with PH products so you can dose sodium separately from energy.
Grams of carbohydrates per serving: 30 g for the PF 30 Gel and PF 30 Chews, 90 g for the PF 90 Gel, 300 g for the PF 300 Flow Gel.
100 mg of caffeine per gel, for 30 g of carbohydrates and 120 kcal.
Two options: the sweat test at an authorized Precision center, performed at rest and painlessly, or the brand’s free online questionnaire, developed using its test data.
