Veloforte is a British sports nutrition brand, founded in London in 2016 by Marc and Lara Giusti and Steve Marson. Its bars are inspired by panforte, a Sienese specialty made with fruit, nuts, and spices.

From family panforte to the peloton

After an operation in 2014, Marc Giusti wanted to get back on his bike but couldn't find sports nutrition made with real food that suited his taste. With his wife Lara, he searched his childhood pantry and rediscovered panforte, a fortifying food from Siena that, he says, was already used as marching rations by the Roman legions. The first prototypes were tested with cyclists in Mallorca. The brand was born in 2016.

Italian names, clear recipes

Each product has an Italian name and lists its ingredients in the title. The gels highlight beetroot, dates, maple syrup, or blackcurrants. The bars feature citrus fruits, almonds, honey, or pistachios. The flavors come from recognizable ingredients rather than artificial flavorings.
