Prise de masse

Mass gain

A gainer combines carbohydrates and protein to make it easy to increase calorie intake when meals aren’t enough. It’s useful when the goal is to gain weight or muscle, but rarely for pure endurance.

Bulking: frequently asked questions

How do you gain muscle mass?

You need a slight calorie surplus (around 300 to 500 kcal per day), enough protein, and an appropriate strength-training program. Gaining muscle takes months, not weeks.

What is a gainer used for?

It’s a powder that combines carbohydrates and protein, useful for reaching a calorie surplus when you don’t eat much. It complements meals.

How many servings of weight gainer per day?

One to two servings at most, in addition to meals: Apurna recommends, for example, one or two 250 ml shakes after the workout. Follow each brand’s dosage.

Is a gainer suitable for an endurance athlete?

Only if the goal is to gain weight or muscle. Otherwise, endurance nutrition is enough.

Do you also need protein powder?

Not always. A gainer already contains some. Count your total protein.
