Omega-3s are polyunsaturated fatty acids essential to the body. They come exclusively from the diet, particularly from the oils of oily fish (herring, salmon, mackerel, etc.). The two main omega-3 fatty acids are eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

They offer several benefits for cardiovascular and brain health. In certain situations, the diet does not meet the body's needs. Supplementation is then necessary.
